The University has received specific funding via a grant under the Workplace Productivity programme (WPP) for “Enhancing Financial and Resources Management Capabilities at UWA”. This grant obliges the University to develop comprehensive staff training and development strategies for staff at all levels across the University. The WPP will enable all university staff, through a series of role-based training sessions, to implement effective financial and related resource management skills using a range of learning modes. The role-based training program flowing from the WPP has been developed to equip staff at all levels with the required financial skills as defined in the “Financial Tasks and Responsibilities Checklist”. This checklist also details the required tasks for each role. Staff, across the University, can establish the knowledge they require in their specific roles by referring to the Required Knowledge for Financial Roles Matrix. A list of role-based training topics has been developed to equip staff with the knowledge and skills required to perform the role competently.
