Financial Services have established a new position titled
"Project School Manager" to provide a "user pay" service to all
our faculties. This position will specifically provide support
to Schools and Faculty Offices in the areas of:
- School Manager leave relief
- Specialist business services for project work such as the
development of costing, school business recovery plans,
project business case development and evaluation
The role statement for the position is as follows:
"The Project School Manager will be required to act in
School Manager positions across all faculties. Together with
the Head, the School Manager is responsible for School policy
and procedures, budget, personnel and long term planning to
ensure the School's effective and efficient, functioning. In
addition the Manager will coordinate the daily operations of
the School, including the supervision of general staff. The
incumbent will work closely with other senior staff both in the
Faculty and in the broader University community to further the
University's mission and goals. The Project School Manager is
also required to undertake specialist business services to
assist Schools and Faculty Offices in the development of
costing, school business recovery plans, project business case
development and evaluation."
This service is initially being conducted on a 12 month
trial basis. Towards the end of this period we will conduct a
review to determine the success of the service. A high level of
utilisation would be required for the service to be continued
and we would then also possibly consider additional resources
being allocated.
